About

I am a theatre director, creative producer, vocal coach and educator, with over 25 years' experience across the cultural, corporate and education sectors.

My private studio clients have played leading roles on Broadway, the West End, and at all major Irish venues including The Abbey and The Gate Theatres. My big passions and core areas of expertise are:

Accent and Dialect Mentoring and Confidence Building | Stephen Sondheim

As a theatre director and performer, I've worked with national and international casts on a wide range of productions at home and abroad, and have directed work to critical and commercial acclaim in New York City as well as in theatres all over Ireland.  I'm Artistic Director of Red Alchemy Theatre Company and Voice Studio, Musical Director of the female vocal sextet, Alchemy and, last year, was honoured to be appointed Writer in Residence at the Watergate Theatre.  In 2022 I founded The Sondheim Festival - the first festival in Ireland to celebrate the life and work of the legendary Stephen Sondheim, and the latest addition to Kilkenny’s cultural calendar.

Originally from Dublin, I live in the beautiful medieval city of Kilkenny with my husband, the artist John O’Donoghue, our gorgeous golden retriever puppy, Ziggy, and two crazy rescue cats, Dot and Clarence!

“Having worked with Christine over the past couple of years, I have found her to be knowledgeable and discerning regarding all things musical, with a great facility for organization and administration. She is also a delightful woman with a quick mind and ready laugh. I hope to work with her again… and again!”

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

Rebecca Storm

Rebecca Storm

First Lady of Irish Musical Theatre

I’ve always loved working with Christine since we first met on ‘Aspects of Love’ back in 1997.

She’s a wonderful voice coach and it’s great to be directed by her.

Of course, it’s also fab to just sit in the auditorium and watch one of her many and varied productions: ‘The Producers’ was a particular favourite!

Christine is the most generous director and person - I loved every second working with Christine on a production.  She created the perfect relaxed, open and hard-working working atmosphere in the rehearsal room.

Christine is so multi-talented that she truly inspires creatively to all around her.  Her vast knowledge of music repertoire is incredible and she leaves me feeling empowered to tackle new songs and techniques.

Anyone would be lucky to work with her.

I would recommend working with Christine without reservation, knowing the high calibre of her work.
